The cooler weather is here and it is the perfect time to head on out and enjoy some quality time in our community doing some fun Fall activities.
Our community is surrounded by amazing farms offering great experiences such as  fall strawberry picking, pumpkin picking, petting zoos, corn mazes and so much more.

Chapell Farms
While at the farm, be sure to check out Chappell Farm’s annual fall festival. Along with pumpkin picking, highlights include farmyard animals, straw and corn mazes, a boo barn, a play area, a gift shop and more. Added weekend attractions include magic shows, live entertainment, jumping castle, a pumpkin train, the haunted barn (this year’s theme is camping gone bad) and an obstacle course.
Chappell Farms is located at 617 Penetanguishene Rd., Barrie. The fall festival runs daily (10 a.m. to 6 p.m.) until to Oct. 31. Admission fees vary. For more information, call 705-721-1547 or visit chappellfarms.ca.
Barrie Hills Farms
We grow “fall” strawberries, which are properly known as “day neutral” strawberries. What this means, is that the plant produces flowers and fruit regardless of day length. Traditional June bearing strawberries are “long day” plants,  meaning they flower and fruit as day length increases in the spring. Once summer has come and the days begin to get shorter, they no longer bear fruit. Day neutral berries continue to fruit even as the days get shorter. So berries are available until the first hard frost of the season – usually early October in this area.
Fall strawberries are an excellent compliment to fall pumpkin picking here at the farm. Our customers really enjoy  coming to choose a pumpkin and fall decorations for Thanksgiving and getting some fresh berries at the same time!
Located at 2935 Barrie Hill Rd. in Springwater. Hours of operation are as follows OPEN DAILY Monday-Friday, 9am-6pm, Saturday & Sunday, 9am-5pm

THANKSGIVING (Saturday October 6 – Monday October 8) 9am -5pm. Call them at (705)728-0571 or reach them via email at info@barriehillfarms.com

Whatever your family decides to do this Fall Season, we hope you have an amazing time together and enjoy every little bit of it!
